Trinitario and Digicel Bring Employees Together for a Chocolate Baking Experience with Chef Lovell

What happens when Trinidad and Tobago’s finest cocoa meets a company built on connection?

A room full of chocolate lovers.

This week, Trinitario Fine Flavour Cocoa partnered with Digicel Trinidad and Tobago to host a live chocolate baking demonstration featuring local chef and restaurant consultant Jeremy Lovell, widely known as Chef Lovell.

The event was part of Digicel’s employee engagement initiatives, designed to bring teams together through unique experiences. And what better way to connect people than through food.

Held at Digicel’s offices in Trinidad, the session brought employees together in person while colleagues in Tobago joined through a live stream, turning a simple baking demonstration into a shared experience across islands.

Connecting People Through Chocolate

Digicel is known for connecting people across the Caribbean through technology.

For this event, that spirit of connection extended into the kitchen.

Employees gathered to watch Chef Lovell demonstrate how to create rich chocolate baked goods using Trinitario cocoa, chocolate chips and baking ingredients, while also learning practical tips they could try at home.

With around 40 attendees in the room and additional participants joining online, the demonstration created a relaxed, interactive environment where colleagues could enjoy food, conversation and a little chocolate inspiration.

And of course, the best part came at the end.

The tastings.

Chef Lovell Brings Trinitario Recipes to Life

Chef Lovell is a Trinidad and Tobago–based chef and restaurant consultant known for blending culinary creativity with approachable techniques.

During the session, he showcased a selection of recipes designed to highlight the richness of Trinitario fine flavour cocoa.

The menu included:

  • Trinitario Triple Chocolate Muffins
  • Double Chocolate Cookies
  • Chocnut Scones

Each recipe demonstrates how premium cocoa can elevate everyday baking.

The Trinitario Chocolate Muffins, for example, combine cocoa powder, dark chocolate chips, bananas and walnuts to create a moist, indulgent muffin with layers of chocolate flavour.

The Double Chocolate Cookies deliver an intense chocolate taste using cocoa powder and baking chips, balanced with butter and brown sugar for a soft centre and crisp edges.

Meanwhile, the Chocnut Scones pair chocolate chips with chopped nuts and a rich chocolate ganache topping, creating a bakery style treat that feels both indulgent and comforting.

Together, the recipes highlight just how versatile Trinidad and Tobago cocoa can be in the kitchen.

Sharing the Experience Beyond the Room

The event was designed not only for the employees attending in person but also for the wider Digicel community.

The demonstration was streamed internally so staff in Tobago could participate, and a video of the experience will soon be shared on Digicel’s platform so more employees can enjoy the session.

To extend the experience even further, Trinitario created a downloadable recipe guide so anyone inspired by the event can recreate the recipes at home.

A Sweet Collaboration

For Trinitario, the collaboration represents an opportunity to showcase the versatility of Trinidad and Tobago cocoa while supporting a corporate initiative that celebrates people, creativity and shared experiences.

For Digicel employees, it offered something simpler.

A chance to pause the workday, enjoy something delicious and learn a few chocolate baking tricks along the way.

Because sometimes the best connections happen around good food.
